Sustenitic stainless steels are fortified with high molybdenum content (>6%) and nitrogen additions, offering superior resistance against chloride pitting and crevice corrosion. The elevated nickel content provides enhanced protection against stress-corrosion cracking, outperforming the 300 series. Designed to rival the capabilities of highly corrosion-resistant nickel-based alloys, these steels offer significant cost advantages without compromising on performance.
